ABOUT THE VINEYARD
Found in the Douro Demarcated territory of north Portugal, Quinta do Crasto is among the oldest wine producers in the nation. The moniker translates as, "Roman Fort", and the earliest record of wine production in the vineyard dates back to 1615. In the 18th Century, Quinta do Crasto became the first demarcted region in the world. Early in the 20th Century, the vineyard was purchased by Constantino de Almeida. It has remained under the stewardship of the de Almeida family since, with Leonor Roquette - granddaughter of Constantino - now managing the estate alongside her husband and two sons.
