Domaine Raspail-Ay Gigondas 2016, Rhône, France

This one’s got the “AIX” factor, no doubt about it. Provence leads the world for ultra-premium rosé, and even among sterling company, AIX Rosé stands out. Its beautiful salmon colour is inviting and its fresh, fruity, almost candied nose is downright irresistible. On the palate it’s crisp and lively with bright red fruit and citrus flavours, a touch of spice and a medium body.

ABOUT THE VINEYARD

Located in Gigondas, Domaine Raspail Ay is a legacy of Eugène Raspail, who created this vineyard in 1854. In 2020, stewardship remains in the Raspail bloodline through Doiminique, a descendent of Eugene. Domaine Raspail Ay covers 18 hectares, and Domique ensures that all wine is created as naturally as possible. Grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed, fermented and bottled without the aid of artifice or filtration, after being aged to perfection before being released for sale.
