ABOUT THE VINEYARD

Covering 80 hectares of Italy's celebrated Chianti Classico region, Castellare di Castellina unites four formerly independent winegrowing estates - Castellare, Caselle, San Niccolò and Le Case. This was the idea of Paolo Panerai, a figurehead of the 1970 renaissance of Italian wine. Only indigenous Tuscan grapes are used at Castellare di Castellina, along with a combination of classic and contemporary production techniques. Academics of the Universities of Milan and Florence advise on the methods adopted by this vineyard, leading to a reputation as one of the finest producers of red wine in the world.
